Linlithgow returned to winning ways and moved into fourth place with a hard fought victory over rivals Tayport.

Rose had the better of the opening period and took the lead in the 24th minute with a well-worked goal.  Grady carried the ball a long way before releasing Herd in the inside right channel.  His cross found Brian Carrigan who gleefully hit a right foot shot past Fitzpatrick to put the home team one nil up.

Seven minutes later it was 2-0 thanks to another well-made goal.  Mark Tyrell marked his return from injury with a 40 yard through ball to Gordon Herd.  The striker's effort was blocked but Stuart "Tank" McArthur was following up and rammed home Rose's second goal of the afternoon.

Rose were almost out of sight a few minutes later but Herd struck the bar when he looked certain to score.

Momentum was lost though just on half time when Tayport pulled a goal back.  Lawson crossed from the left and Gallacher slid the ball into his own goal.

Tayport had the better of the second half but failed to make many clear-cut chances.  When they did their finishing let them down.

Danny Smith made a welcome return with 7 minutes remaining.

Pinkowski saved the day with three minutes left, diving full length to save Webster's penalty.

Tayport captain Roberto Morris was shown a red card in the centre circle after the final whistle.
