Linlithgow Rose 6 - 1 Armadale Thistle
Dechmont Forklift League Cup
Scorers: Linlithgow - King (5, 75 & 85); Coyne (26 &45); Strickland (76)
Armadale - Mauchline (84)
Rose sealed their place in the Dechmont Forklift League Cup semi finals with an emphatic win over near neighbours Armadale. Chris King opened the scoring early on with a drive from 18 yards and Rose went 2 up just after the half hour when McArthur's cross was met by Tommy Coyne.
The match was then held up for around 8 minutes when ex-Rose man Robbie Feeney was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg 7 minutes from half time after a clash with Ronnie McPherson. To add to Armadale's woes, Coyne put the home team further ahead before the half-time whistle when he picked up a poor clearance and gave Walker no chance with his shot.
Half Time Linlithgow 3 - 0 Armadale
The second half was slow in gathering steam but eventually burst into life when Nelson's excellent pass was gathered by King who lobbed the keeper. Within a minute, Linlithgow extended their lead. King turned provider as Colin Strickland opened his Rose account following his move from Whitburn.
Although Armadale grabbed a late consolation through Mauchline, King rounded off an excellent night by grabbing his hat-trick with 5 minutes remaining.
