Court of The Deacons of the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Linlithgow

Report from Court Meeting 3 March 2009

Provost Norman Cummings Presiding

Margaret Johnson, Deacon of the Black Bitch Association, was
welcomed to her first Court meeting.

The Provost and Bailies are in touch with Provost Tom Kerr and
the council to assess the arrangements for Deacons’ nights and
the Marches day, in relation to the current works at the Burgh Halls and the Cross.

The British Legion Band will be able to attend the Marches. This makes 11 bands.

The Court is actively seeking a location for a storage container.
Leonard Gray, of Lanark, Past Lord Cornet, has accepted
the invitation to be a float judge.

The Edinburgh March Riding Association has invited the
Provost and Bailies with their wives to an introductory meeting in Edinburgh.

The organising of the Race night, 17 April, is well under way.
Every one encouraged to sell tickets £5 each.
